Contact Names not showing up on MightyText Web App or Tablet App.

When you first install the MightyText app on your Android phone, we attempt to automatically sync Contacts from your phone so you can see the names of people who are texting or calling you on the web app or tablet app. 

If you have issues with these contact names not showing up, see below.

For MightyText Web App:

If you are only seeing phone numbers in the web app, and not names that you normally see on your phone, first try restarting your web browser.

If that doesn't work, then you can try getting the latest contacts from your phone:

  • make sure your Android phone is on and has a working internet connection
  • in the MightyText Web App, go to Settings, then Clear Local Contacts Name Cache
  • while in Settings, now click Refresh Contacts from Phone
  • wait about 2 minutes, restart your browser, and launch the MightyText Web App again

For MightyText Android Tablet App:


If you are only seeing phone numbers in the Android tablet app, and not names that you normally see on your phone, then you can try getting the latest contacts from your phone:
  • make sure your tablet has a working internet connection
  • select "Refresh Contacts" on the MightyText Tablet App
  • close the MightyText Tablet App (use the back button)
  • wait 15 seconds and re-start the MightyText Tablet App
If you are still unable to see contact names, try the steps below:
  • go to your computer, and launch the MightyText Web App
  • make sure your phone is on and has a working internet connection
  • in the MightyText Web App, go to Settings, then Clear Local Contacts Name Cache
  • while in Settings, now click Refresh Contacts from Phone
  • Wait about 2 minutes, then, launch the MightyText Tablet App 
  • select "Refresh Contacts" on the Tablet App
