Tab icon change when new messages arrive
A setting to turn off the notification pop up and just have a slight change in the tab icon when new messages arrive would be nice (maybe turn from blue to red). This option is on the mysms app and it seems to be a great alternative. I prefer Mighty Text though overall. I use Chrome with the Chrome extension.
No need for a flashing light. What about just a small number in the bottom right saying how many messages unread? This is given as a labs function of gmail and works really well when I have pinned tabs. Only the logo of gmail shows and I can just give the tab a glance and then i know if any new messages has arrived.
I am 100% behind the fact that there needs to be a flashing element. If you walk away from the computer after receiving a message sometimes it can be easy to forget you were talking to someone. I think MSN messenger always did a good job of reminding you with a sporadically blinking blue light. They also had it so it could be turned off by those who didn't want it.
With the new feature of using MightyText within gmail, this would be especially useful. Whenever a new message is received via gchat, the title flashes to indicate that a new message has been received. Having something similar for MightyText would make the gmail extension much more useful.
This would really help as a reminder that there are unread messages. The name for that little icon is 'favicon' btw.
