One notification for multipart messages

A friend was sending me rather long texts and they were split into multiple parts. Sometime 3 part texts. Having lots of notifications on my desktop were a minor annoyance.

Any progress on this? Was reported over 2 years ago...

(Also on KitKat 4.4.2 on Nexus 4, using Hangouts.)

Agreed, this is an annoying feature and one that is a basic part of SMS and should be simple to fix. It is also annoying that long messages sent *from* web app get split into multiple SMS messages on phone (KitKat 4.4.2 / Hangouts).

I agree. A competing product (Desktop SMS, Tablet SMS) which I previously used had no problem combining the messages back together.

this would be a god send ... makes reading messages quite difficult..

Detecting and reconstructing the original message (generally all of similar format) should be pretty easy. I'd love to see it.

Agreed. Long messages are split into multiple ones when being sent and received via MightyText. I'm guessing this is due to the 160 character limit, but they should be automatically combined and displayed like how they appear on the phone.
